As this is going to be my family and my stories site (with my other interests found on other sites!), I thought I’d start out with the “30 days of me” challenge.
Day 1: a recent picture of me and 15 interesting facts about myself.
Two years ago, I made a list of 25 or so things about me. A couple years having now passed, and much water under the bridge, herewith 15 up-to-date things!
1. Today is February 14, 2011, and my husband, Lionel, and myself are celebrating our 30th valentines anniversary together (see the original list #4). Coming up, on May 15, we will celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary.
2. We now have 8 grandchildren (see the original list #6): Tony and Apollo, Kayla and Logan, William and Thomas, and Marcus and Hailey.
3. Due to developing neck wrinkles and jowels (see the original list #11) I have cropped this picture to edit them out
4. I no longer live downtown (see the original list #22). We have bought a charming little townhouse mid-town. I like it a lot, but definitely miss the downtown vibe. Still, I try to get there as often as possible. Its only a half hour walk or so.
5. I still love my laptop (see the original list, second #24). However, it is a lovely new laptop, and I love it even more than my old faithful (but very slow and rather outdated) one.
6. On to new things. Let me see. I am trying to become more WordPress-wise. Today I spent a few hours revamping my penandpapermama.com blogsite. If you look at it you will no doubt wonder what I have done … but trust me! I have completed almost all of the first 28 items in “The Ultimate Guide to Launching A Word-Press Powered Blog.” I am pretty impressed with myself!
7. I am currently involved in several local organizations. I am the communications director for Penticton Writers and Publishers (PWAP) group. As such, I am the moderator for their yahoo e-group, and publish their newsletter, The Penticton Scribe.
8. I am involved with Another Church Street Ministries. I am developing their website and blog, and you can check it out here.
9. I am also a member of the Okanagan Archive Trust Society (though I admit I’ve not been as involved lately as I should be – I must definitely get more involved!).
10. And I am on our townhouse strata council. And learning a lot about stratas, needless to say.
11. I am not officially “employed” at the moment, but life is never dull nonetheless. Besides writing, blogging, learning more about website and blog design, and so on, I am looking into the possibility of once again becoming self-employed. I am considering becoming a tutor (again), a virtual assistant, or a professional organizer. Unless of course you have a job opportunity for me which is too good to turn down
(Do let me know!)
12. I love camping. Unfortunately, we did not go camping at all this past summer. Next summer we will definitely have to make up for it. All my camping supplies are organized and ready to go. Where to? Hmmmm?
13. Being a jill-of-all-trades (aka a “renaissance mama”) I have a list of projects and dreams that is much too long. I am in the process of whittling it down to a reasonable size. Unfortunately, I hate to let any items go. I suppose this means I need to organize myself if I have any hope of becoming a professional organizer!
14. I am seriously considering monetizing my blogs.
15. I would like very much for you to list (in the comments) anything you’d like to see me add to this site, or what are your favorite posts, or…. (Be nice, please!)

Very good Norma…No I just got to figure out how to link sites. Bob
